Senate President Bukola Saraki's trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal resumed
today April 5th. At the hearing, the tribunal dismissed an application by Saraki
asking for the case to be adjourned so he can make further legal consultation on
the matter.
The tribunal chairman, Justice Danladi Umar, ruled against his application,
insisting that the trial commences immediately. The first witness has been called
in to testify against Saraki.
Saraki is standing trial for alleged false declaration of asset while he was
governor of Kwara state.
